 Fulka (Unleavened Bread)
Ingredients
  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • Water
Method
Knead the flour into a smooth dough by adding little water at a time. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of oil and knead again. Divide into small balls.

Flatten each ball and dip it in dry flour so that it does not stick to the rolling board. Roll out into small even discs/chapattis.
Heat a griddle(tawa). Put one rolled chappati on the tawa and when the underside is done, turn over and allow the other side to be cooked lightly. Take the tawa of the flame and place the chapatti directly on the flame with the help of tongs. When it puffs up, turn over and cook the other side on the flame for 1-2 seconds. Repeat for the rest. Smear a teaspoon of ghee before serving.

Serve hot with a gravy dish.
