 Yera Chapa (Fried Fish in Tomato Gravy) 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 10 Fish fillets
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 4 large Tomatoes
  • 4 Sliced onions
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3 Potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 cups Water
  • Salt (As per taste)
Method
Heat oil. Fry fish till brown. Remove fish from pan and keep aside. Rub fish with salt and turmeric. Mince tomatoes very fine. Grind together tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic, coriander and cumin to a fine paste.

In the same oil, fry sliced potatoes lightly. Add the ground mixture, fry on a slow fire. Add chilly powder, 2 cups water and fish and simmer together for 5 to 8 minutes till the fish is done.

Serve with boiled rice or chapatti.
