Black Forest Cake
Ingredients
  • 1 tin Milkmaid
  • 225 gm Maida
  • 125 gm Butter
  • 3-4 tbsp Cocoa
  • 1 bottle Aerated cola drink
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Soda bicarbonate
  • 1 cup Cream
  • 1 small tin Tinned cherries
  • 25-40 gm Chocolate bar
Method
Lightly grease and flour a baking tray. Preheat the oven to 150C melt the butter in a pan. Cool and add Milkmaid.
Sift together maida, baking powder, soda and cocoa. Mix the maida with Milkmaid-butter mixture alternating with cola till the maid and cola are over. Immediately pour into the prepared tin and bake for 30-40 minutes at 150C. Cool and slit horizontally into two. Whip cream till light and fluffy.

Sandwich the two layers of cake with whipped cream and destoned cherries.
Top with whipped cream and cherries. Sprinkle generously with grated chocolate.
