Khadkhadi (Spicy, sauteed Prawns)

Ingredients

- 1/4 kg Prawns
- 1 cup Grated coconut
- 2 tablespoons Tamarind pulp
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
|
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 2 cups Water
- Salt (As per taste)

Method
Clean and de-vein the prawns. Marinate the cleaned and deveined prawns in salt and red chilli powder for 30 minutes. Grind together the garlic and coconut coarsely.

Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan and add musturd seeds. When the seeds start crackling, add the garlic-coconut paste. Saute on a low flame until it turns light brown.
Add the prawns and stir for 2 minutes. Add the tamarind paste and 2 cups of water. Cook uncovered on a medium flame till prawns are cooked and the liquid evaporates.
Serve hot.
