Jahni Posto (Ridge gourd with Mustard and Potatoes)
Ingredients
  • 4 medium Ridge gourd
  • 3 Potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons Poppy seeds
  • 10 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon 5 Spice Seeds
  • 4 Green chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • Salt (As per taste)
Method
Peel and chop the vegetables. Soak the poppy seeds in warm water for 10 minutes. Grind the garlic and soaked poppy seeds to a fine paste.

Heat oil in a pan, add the panch phutana and green chillies. When the seeds start crackling, add chopped vegetables, salt and turmeric powder. Saute for 5 minutes. Add little water if necessary and cook till the vegetables are 3/4th done. Add the poppy paste. Mix well and cook on a low flame till completely done.

Serve hot with rotis.

Serves : 4 Time : 40 mins.
