Chenaikizhangu Varuval (Yam Chips)
Ingredients
  • 1 kg Yam
  • 2 teaspoons Chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
  • 4 cups Water
  • Oil (for frying)
  • Salt(As per taste)
Method
Peel and chop the yam into very thin slices. Dissolve the turmeric powder in 4 Cups water and add the chopped yam into it. Keep aside for 30 minutes. Drain, pat dry and spread on a dry muslin cloth.

Heat oil and fry the chips till they are crisp.

Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder and asafoetida powder on the chips and mix well.

Store in air tight container.

Serves : 4 Time : 75 mins.
