 Yashwant Sinha (Born 1937)
Born in Patna in 1937, Yaswant did his masters from Patna University in 1958. Thereafter he became a teacher of Political Science, a job he continued till 1960, when he was selected for IAS.

For 24 years he worked as a bureaucrat starting from a sub divisional Magistrate to a Consul General of India in Frankfurt, and then a Joint Secretary in Ministry of Surface Transport. In 1984 he joined active politics as a member of Janta party. He worked as Minister of Finance from November 1990 to June 1991 in Mr. Chandra Shekhar's Cabinet.
He became the National Spokesperson of the BJP in June 1996. He was appointed Finance Minister of India in March, 1998. Mr. Sinha has a wide range of interests including reading, gardening and meeting people.
