About the Destination

The Golden City of India

Jaisalmer, founded in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, is one of the few remaining living forts in the world. The city seems to emerge from the golden sands of the Thar Desert, its honey-colored sandstone walls glowing like molten gold at sunset.

Once a wealthy trading hub on the ancient Silk Route, Jaisalmer's merchants built elaborate havelis with intricate stone lattice work so fine it resembles lace. These architectural marvels still stand today, testament to the city's prosperous past.

Beyond the fort, the Thar Desert beckons with its endless golden dunes. Camel safaris, desert camping under star-filled skies, and the haunting melodies of Rajasthani folk music create unforgettable desert experiences.
