About the Destination

The Sun City of India

Jodhpur, the second-largest city in Rajasthan, was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha. The city served as the capital of the Kingdom of Marwar, and its strategic location on the ancient trade route between Delhi and Gujarat brought it immense wealth.

The city gets its "Blue City" nickname from the indigo-painted houses clustering around Mehrangarh Fort. Originally, the blue color indicated the home of a Brahmin, but over time, residents realized the paint kept homes cool and repelled insects.

Beyond its famous fort and blue houses, Jodhpur is known for its handicrafts, textiles, and the unique Marwari cuisine. The city is also called the "Sun City" for its bright, sunny weather throughout the year.
